HEIGHTS is calling for submissions for its annual Seniors’ Folio. The call is open to all graduating and non-graduating college seniors and superseniors of the Higher Education Cluster. This is a themeless call.

Submission Guidelines 

‍

For written works in English and Filipino:

‍

We accept poetry, short fiction, literary essays, literary criticism, one-act plays, screenplays, and critical essays.

‍

Only a maximum of seven (7) works from different genres will be accepted per contributor. 

‍

For every work, two (2) copies must be submitted: one in .DOCX format and one in .PDF format. (A4 Size)

Label BOTH copies with the filename [LAST NAME] Title (e.g.[DELA CRUZ] Untitled).

‍

Submit all works in the following format: EB Garamond, font size 11 and 1.5 spacing.

‍

For visual art:

‍

We accept illustrations, paintings, photographs and photo manipulation, mixed media, sculpture, video art, or visual art in any other medium.

‍

Only a maximum of ten (10) works and a maximum of two (2) series will be accepted per contributor. Indicate whether submissions are individual works or part of a series in the file name.

‍

Further instructions are as follows:

• All works must be attached as an image file with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.

• Files with .JPEG / .PNG / .IMG extensions will be accepted.

• Reel or screenshots for .GIF and other video files will be accepted.

• Photoshop and Illustrator files will not be accepted.

• Please be reminded that the publication may choose to accept series in parts only.

• Notes on Procedure: Artists are encouraged to send a 250-word written accompaniment to their work, which may be used for the deliberation process. This text may include the artist’s creative process, concepts and frameworks used, and the like. Notes on procedure must be attached as a .DOCX file. This will not be published in the folio.

For every work, label the file with the TITLE, MEDIUM, and DIMENSION of the work.

Terms and Conditions

By submitting your work to HEIGHTS Ateneo’s Call for Contributions, you are consenting to the following if your piece is accepted into the publication: 1) the piece may be posted on HEIGHTS’ online pages such as Facebook and Instagram, 2) the piece may be printed and exhibited in any of HEIGHTS’ projects and events, 3) HEIGHTS may contact the author or artist regarding any modifications in the piece.

The editors’ copies of unpublished work and correspondence relating to it will be deleted at most one (1) calendar year from the publication of the folio the work is submitted to. 

‍

Copyright reverts to the original author or artist. HEIGHTS accepts previously published works.

Mga Patnubay sa Pagpasa

‍

Para sa mga akda sa English at Filipino:

‍

Tumatanggap kami ng mga tula, maikling kuwento, sanaysay, kritisismo, dulang may isahang yugto, at screenplay.

‍

Bawat kontributor ay inaasahang magpasa ng hindi hihigit sa pitong (7) akda mula sa iba’t ibang genre. 

‍

Sa bawat akdang isusumite, mangyaring ilakip ang dalawang (2) kopya ng akda: isang kopya sa pormang .DOCX at isa sa pormang .PDF (A4 Size). Ang filename ng dokumentong ito ay [APELYIDO] Title (hal. [DELA CRUZ] Untitled)

Para sa mga akdang Sining-Biswal:

‍

Tumatanggap kami ng mga biswal na obra: ilustrasyon, painting, potograpiya, mixed media, photomanipulation, o mga akda sa kahit anong biswal na medium.

‍

Maaari lamang magpasa ang bawat manlilikha ng hindi lalagpas sa sampung (10) akda at hindi lalagpas sa dalawang (2) serye.

‍

Sabihin sa pangalan ng file kung indibidwal o bahagi ng isang serye ang mga ipapasa.

‍

Mga karagdagang patnubay:

• Ilakip ang lahat ng mga akda bilang image file na may 300 dpi pataas na resolusyon.

• Tinatanggap ang mga files na may .JPEG / .PNG / .IMG extensions.

• Tinatanggap ang mga reel o screenshot ng mga .GIF at iba pang video file.

• Hindi tatanggapin ang Photoshop at Illustrator files.

• Mangyaring tandaan na maaaring tanggapin ng palathala ang piling bahagi lamang ng mga serye.

• Mga Tala ukol sa Proseso ng Malilikha: Inaanyayahan ang mga manlilikha na magpasa ng paliwanag kasabay ng kanilang nilikha, ukol sa kanilang malikhaing proseso, mga konsepto at balangkas na ginamit, at iba pang mga detalye na maaaring makatulong sa proseso ng deliberasyon. Gagawin ito sa isang sanaysay na hindi lalagpas sa 250 na salita, at ilalakip bilang isang .DOCX file. Hindi ito ilalathala sa folio.

Sa pagsusumite ng iyong akda sa taunang panawagan ng HEIGHTS Ateneo, ika’y sumasang-ayon sa mga sumusunod nang matanggap ang iyong piyesa: 1) ang akda ay maaaring maibahagi sa HEIGHTS’ online pages tulad ng Facebook at Instagram, 2) ang akda ay maaaring mailathala at maipakita sa mga proyekto ng HEIGHTS, 3) maaaring makipag-ugnay ang HEIGHTS sa awtor ukol sa anumang rebisyon ng piyesa.

Buburahin ang mga kopya ng patnugot ng mga hindi nailathalang akda, kasama ang kaugnay nitong proseso ng talakayan sa loob ng isang (1) taon mula sa publikasyon ng folio kung saan isinumite ang piyesa.
